Khayaban-e-Soharwardi opens from Monday

After the construction work done by the Capital Development Authority (CDA), the Khyaban-e-Soharwardi road will be opened for routine traffic from Monday. The road was being opened for general public after completion of its rehabilitation and up-gradation which was started around two months ago. Opening of the Khyaban-e-Soharwardi will ease the traffic flow on the Kashmir Highway and adjacent roads particularly at traffic signal of 7th avenue and Kashmir Highway.
Commuters were facing difficulties due to closure of this avenue at peak hours. Opening of this road will help smooth flow of traffic emerging from zero point, leading toward Aabpara and 7th Avenue and traffic emerging from Aabpara leading toward zero point. It is pertinent to mention here that before opening of the road Capital Development Authority (CDA) had decided to revamp the road to ensure un-interrupted traffic flow.
CDA had started rehabilitation of this avenue which has been completed while finishing work and cleanliness / sweeping of the road will be completed during the next two days before its opening for general public. Re-carpeting of the road has been carried out, cat eyes have been installed and lane marking has been carried out while drainage system along the road has also been upgraded.—APP
