Khadim-e-Punjab ujala programme
Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that 20 thousand schools will be alighted through solar panels under the ‘Khadim-e-Punjab Ujala Programme.’ These schools are situated in the far-flung areas of the province. This programme is being launched from the southern Punjab and first of all, ten thousand schools of southern Punjab region will be converted to solar energy. He said that this programme is of vital importance for providing better educational atmosphere to the future of the nation and therefore, the work will be done in a professional manner.
He expressed these views while addressing the meeting through video link at Civil Secretariat today to review progress on the programme of brightening the schools through solar panels under ‘Khadim-e-Punjab Ujala Programme.’ n his address, the Chief Minister said that the programme of brightening the schools through solar energy is one of its kinds in the country and added that more than twenty thousand schools will be provided electricity through solar panels in the Punjab under this programme. He said that Khadim-e-Punjab Ujala programme will be accelerated with commitment and hard work.
Secretary Energy gave a briefing about the progress on this programme. Provincial Minister for Schools Rana Mashhood, Advisor Dr. Umar Saif, Chief Secretary, Chairman Planning & Development, secretaries of concerned departments and high officials participated in the meeting through video link at Civil Secretariat whereas German expert attended the meeting through Skype from Germany. Work on Taunsa Sharif Danish School’s building begins: The Punjab government has started work on new building of Danish School in tehsil Taunsa Sharif. The school is being introduced at an area of 300 acres and over Rs 1.6 billion will be spent in this regard. This was stated by Deputy Commissioner DG Khan Allah Rakha Anjum while chairing a meeting here on Wednesday.
Earlier, a team of Danish School Authority La-hore visited DG Khan for launching of work on school’s building. The build-ing will be completed within stipulated time period. General Manager Operations Danish School System Authority Bilal Khalid also informed the meeting participants that the de-sign of building has been completed, adding the work will be started at five packages and work-order has also been issued.
