The 2-day Folk Festival started here on Saturday at National Museum of Pakistan Karachi. The Sindh Cultural and Tourism Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah along w ith American Counsel General Grace Shelton inaugurated the festival.
Later, Syed Sardar Ali Shah and Grace Shelton visited different stalls and appreciated the efforts of the stalls owners.
The Festival is being held under the aegis of the Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Department of Sindh Government aimed at to promote the Sindhi culture, Art and Crafts, Folk Music, dance and traditional cousine.
Renowned folk singer of yesteryears Allan Fakeer’s son Faheem Allan Fakeer and a number of other folk artists on the occasion presented folk music which was enjoyed and appreciated by the audiance.
Akbar Laghari Secretary Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Department gifted a painting to Cultural and Tourism Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah. The Sindhi Ajrak was also gifted to the Minister by the the Stall owner.
The stall owners apprechiated the efforts for organizing the activity and suggested holding of such festivals frequently for the promotion of various cultures.
