150 players to participate in National Table Tennis C’ship

Multan—The 52nd national table tennis championship organized by Pakistan table tennis association will start from today (Monday) at gymnasium hall sports ground.
President Multan table tennis association Khawaja Hassan Wadood said this while giving press briefing to media persons about the table tennis championship here at district sports ground gymnasium hall. He said that they had named the championship as “sports for peace” and the purpose of holding championship was to promote peace in the country.
He said that more than 150 players including one dozen international players were participating in the championship from across the country.
He informed that players hailing from four provinces, Azad Kashmir, Pak-Army, WAPDA, Islamabad, HEC, NHA, railway, OGDCL, Croma textile and banks were participating.
Khawaja said that national table tennis championship was being held after 21 years in the city while Multan table tennis association bearing all expenditures of the championship.
The inauguration ceremony of national table tennis championship will be held at 6:00 pm tomorrow while DCO Zahid Saleem Gondal would be the chief guest and the championship would be concluded on April 16.
Vice president Pakistan table tennis association, president table tennis association Punjab Shahid Akhtar Balouch and secretary Punjab table tennis association Khalid Mahmood were also present.—APP
