13-year-old anti-polio volunteer missing from Hijrat Colony

Karachi—A volunteer on official assignment of administering anti-polio vaccine to infants and children has gone missing for past two days from Hijrat Colony.
According to details, a 13 year old young girl volunteer Shabana joined the anti-polio team for Hijrat Colony on Monday morning. She joined the anti-polio team as a replacement of her elder sister Amina as the later was unavailable for the duty owing to her exams.
Shabana’s brother Khayal Muhammad claimed that he had left his sister at the local office of anti-polio drive. Shabana was also given a bag of anti-polio vaccine for the infants of Hijrat Colony but has disappeared from street 18, sector D-2 of Hijrat Colony, Karachi.
On the other hand, the district civil administration has claimed Shabana is not a volunteer of anti-polio drive while Civil lines DSP claims that she has run away with a man named Shoaib and that Police are searching her.
Hijrat Colony is known as den of different criminal, extortionist and terrorist gangs where the Karachiites do not enter except those, who lived in this locality.
