Islamabad—Parliamentary Secretary for Interior and Narcotics Marriyum Aurangzeb Friday informed the National Assembly that 2.54 acres of Argentina Park has been handed over for Polyclinic extension and 1100 bed five stories hospital was being constructed on it.
Responding to various supplementary questions during Question Hour, she said that all the diagnostic facilities would be available at ground floor.
She said that Argentina embassy donated the land for extension of Polyclinic hospital.
Marriyum said emergency unit of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) was also being expending besides setting up another emergency unit. She said that home work has also been completed to upgrade all basic health care units to reduce burden of patients on PIMS and Polyclinic hospitals.
She said that both PIMS and Polyclinic were being upgraded while another new hospital was also being set up in the federal capital. arriyum said that human resources mapping has also been completed and all vacant vacancies in PIMS would be filled soon.
She said that at present all the medicines in the emergency of PIMS were available free of cost.
To a question, she said that proposal was under consideration to construct Chirah dam to supply water to Islamabad and Rawalpindi. She said that the project would be executed by the Punjab government while CDA would only share cost.
She said PC1 of the project has already been approved and the provincial government has also released funds for its first phase. Mapping was being carried out to check development activities in catchment areas of proposed dams, she said.
