110 Thar villages to have medical camps

Mithi—Thar Deputy Commissioner Dr Shahzad Tahir Thaheem on Saturday said that the government had provided all basic facilities including health and drinking water to the entire Thar district and even to remote villages. He said that better results were coming after providing medical mobiles teams for provisions of medical treatments.
The DC informed that medical camps would be established in different villages of taluka Diplo in current month. These villages are Tando Niazi, Pathar, Dohanry, Ali Baunder, Talo Jam and Sindhoi Sakro. He said that medical camps set up in taluka Diplo’s villages also provide medical facilities to other villages adjoining taluka Diplo.
The DC asked the villagers living adjoining villages to avail medical facilities from these medical camps. He further said more than 110 villages would be covered by these medical camps, while more medical camps will be organized in more than other 70 villages of taluka Diplo.
It was earlier reported that free distribution of wheat was continuing in a transparent manner in Tharparkar and 1,35,831 sacks of 100 kilogram have been distributed among 2,71,662 families of the district. Every family was getting 50 kilograms of wheat under the relief distribution program and remaining houses would be provided wheat soon, said a hand out issued by Sindh Infor-mation Department.
The Sindh government had not left people of Tharparkar alone in their hard time and they were provided with free wheat as well as clean drinking water and health facilities. Efforts were being made to improve the situation in the area.
Meanwhile, it is reported that Deputy Commissioner Tharparkar, Dr. Shahzad Thaheem, has said that medical camps would be arranged in remote areas of the district to provide people of Thar better health care facilities at their door step.
He was of the view that health situation in the district was gradually improving but still it required collective efforts from all stakeholders to further improve the overall situation.—APP
