10 MQM men sent to jail in media houses vandalism case

Karachi —As many as 10 workers of Muttahida Qaumi Movement were sent to jail on Saturday over accusations of treason and attack on media houses in Karachi.
The accused were presented before Anti-Terrorism Court for hearing during which, the investigation officer requested to extend their remand for further probe.
The court ordered to send MQM workers to jail and directed the officer to submit case challan as soon as possible.
On the other hand, the court also remanded MQM target killers Kashif Tanda and Junaid in jail for murdering Waheed Qureshi and Sohail Anjum Advocate.
Earlier, the arrested activists were presented before magistrate for identification parade. It was learnt that a total of 54 workers have been detained in different cases.
On August 22, MQM founder Altaf Hussain had delivered a speech to workers in which he raised anti-state slogans and allegedly directed political activists to attack media outlets.
Meanwhile, number of offices of Muttahida Qaumi Movement that have been razed in the metropolis has reached 54 on Saturday after another was bulldozed in Azizabad area for illegal construction. Reportedly, unit 63-A office in Azizabad was built illegally on a piece of land that was reserved for recreational park.
