Punjab Information Technology Board’s (PITB)’s initiative for the youth to enable them to earn approximately Rs 40,000-80,000 per month while working from home, will be launched on Friday.
A joint project of the PITB and Youth Affairs, Sports, Archaeology & Tourism, Chief Minister’s e-Rozgaar Programme, will be launched formally at the University of Gujrat (UoG), Gujrat.
Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab & Chairman PITB and founding Vice Chancellor of Information Technology University (ITU) Punjab will inaugurate the first centre at the UoG.
According to a spokesman, under the e-Rozgaar initiative, the PITB would open five centres in Gujrat, Lahore, Taxila, Wah Cantt and Faisalabad this month.
The training will equip the youth of Punjab to have a range of avenues to generate self-sustainable income through online freelancing for various sites around the globe in technical, non-technical and creative areas.
The PITB has registered 33,105 applications of young graduates and the selected candidates will be given three-month training about freelance self-employment at 40 training centres by high profile trainers.
Among these centres, five are specified for female candidates. In the first phase, 10,000 candidates will be trained in three different batches in one year. These centres are being established in 11 universities of Punjab.
