World Bank satisfied over performance of on-going projects

Punjab Planning & Development Department hosted a World Bank portfolio review meeting to discuss nine on-going projects of World Bank at P&D Complex, Lahore. Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan Chairman Planning & Development Punjab & acting Country Director World Bank jointly chaired the meeting while members of World Bank team participated in the meeting via video conference from World Bank Office, Islamabad.
In the meeting, Punjab Chairman P&D welcomed Acting Country Director and his team members at P&D Complex, Lahore. Addressing the meeting, Jahanzeb Khan Chairman P&D appreciated World Bank support for uplift and prosperity of the province.
During the meeting, World Bank made a concise presentation on Punjab Portfolio Review from Islamabad Office through video link wherein it was highlighted that current portfolio of World Bank consisting of nine (9) projects amounting to over US$1.000 billion. Program / Project Directors presented project briefs regarding physical & financial progress in a meeting.
World Bank Team advised the project directors for better human resource development, procurement management and close monitoring of Projects. The World Bank team showed satisfaction about the overall performance of the on-going projects and expressed willingness to continue support Punjab for development projects in future.
