An eight-member delegation of women representing various walks of life, called on Sindh Governor, Muhammad Zubair, at the Governor House here on Wednesday.
The delegation, headed by chief executive officer of Human Resource Service, Mariyum Choudhry, discussed various issues including the role of women in the country’s economic and financial development, problems as well as obstructions etc faced by them.
The Governor said that the Pakistani women are very talented and proving their mettle in every field. He stated that in the realms of education the girls are ahead of the boys and secured top positions in the examinations which augurs well.
Zubair said that women constitute almost half of the country’s population and their services should be utilized for the national development and progress and for this they should be fully encouraged.
He stated that the government was extending every help and cooperation to the women and to ensure their participation in every field of activity.
The Governor said that equal opportunities are available to the women. Our religion also accords equal status to the women. The leader of the delegation introduced to the Governor the women working in various fields.
