‘Women in Business’ summit concludes

Women Chamber of Commerce and Industries Khyber Pakhtunkwa held a successful women business summit here.
According to a press release issued, approximately 200 women from across the country attended the event.
The summit features two days of networking for women entrepreneurs with guest speakers, a panel discussion, meetings and interactive lunch.
The summit is an opportunity for women entrepreneurs as it provides a platform for sharing experiences and ideas in developing women’s leadership and entrepreneurship capacity.
The main objective of the event is to inspire, connect, support and empower women in order to bring peace and prosperity in the region.
On the second day of session, participation continued to be strong with engaging and focused discussions amongst business experts and current and aspiring entrepreneurs.
Dr MeherTaj Roghani was the Chief Guest who lauded the efforts by the Chamber of Commerce and commended the energy in the room of all the women entrepreneurs of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The WIBSUM 2017 was concluded with the signing of MoUs with the Pakistan Innovation Foundation, chaired by Mr Saad Amanullah and SEED which is led by Faraz Khan.
The event culminated with the signing of the Peshawar Declaration that included pledges by eminent speakers and experts attending the summit.
Some of the pledges included Producer and Director Momina Duraid providing script writing opportunities for the women of KP and producing at least two drama serials to help improve the image of women entrepreneurs.
Rezani Aziz from Sri Lanka will be promoting master artisans training in gemstones while Masooma Sibtain from FPCCI will be expanding the National Business Agenda for women entrepreneurs to KP.
Ms. Shamama Arbab, also the Board Member, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development & Management Company (KPEZDMC) thanked the KPEZDMC team and SMEDA for their continued support & facilitating and making this summit a reality.—APP
