WAPDA upgrades various officials posts

Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) up-graded various posts of its officials across the country from existing Basic Pay Scales (BPS) to the higher scales, on the analogy of the federal government’s decision and to motivate its employees.
According to WAPDA spokesman here Sunday, the decision was made by the WAPDA headed by WAPDA Chairman Lt General (R) Muzammil Hussain. He said that as many as 2960 WAPDA officials would get benefit from this up-gradation, adding that 910 Junior Clerks, 321 Senior Clerks, 949 Assistants, 736 Assistant Line Men, Assistant Sub Station Attendants and Assistant Station Attendants, 27 Sub Station Attendants and Line Men-II, and 17 Line Men stood up-graded with this decision which is about 17.16 per cent of the total working strength of the WAPDA.
The spokesman mentioned that at present, 17252 officials and officers are working in WAPDA.—APP
