Voter’s awareness rally on Dec 7


Mithi—Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Wednesday launched voter’s education campaign. For this purpose an awareness rally and seminar will be also held at Mithi on December 7. This was stated by District Election Commissioner Tharparkar, Naveed Aziz while addressing a meeting of district voter education committee.
He told the meeting that ECP was trying its best to create awareness among the people regarding their right to adult franchise so that they could be able to elect their genuine representatives during the electoral process.
He informed that Election Commssion had decided to launch an awareness campaign for the people, in which awareness seminars and rallies would be organized to educate them regarding their basic right to vote.
He was of the opinion that majority of the voters did not have knowledge about method of casting their votes in elections, adding that they (voters) would have been imparted a proper training to cast their votes in a right way.
He informed that awareness seminars and rallies would be organized in different cities, towns and rural areas of the country before 2018 general elections and for this purpose cooperation of the civil society, representatives of the political as well as social organizations and media would be needed to achieve positive results.—APP
