Two matches decided in National Baseball C’ship


Lahore—WAPDA and Pakistan Amry Monday notched up victories against their respective rivals on fourth day of the Bahria National Baseball Championship here on Monday at Aashiq Hussain Baseball Stadium, Bahria Town.
Wapda routed Police 11-1. From WAPDA Sumair Zawar, Ali and Zakir scored 2 runs each, Umair Imdad Bhatti, Zaheer, Asif, Zubair and Adnan contributed with one run each.
Umair Imdad Bhatti scored the lone goal from the Police. Army gave baseball lesson to Punjab with 15-0 thrashing.
Pakistan Army Attique, Rizwan, Naveem, Majid, Shaukat, Abdullah and Ramzan added 2 runs apiece and Rafi contributed one run.
Syed Khawar Shah, Director Sports Bahria Town/ President Federation Baseball was the chief guest. Sheikh Mazhar Ahmad, Secretary General Pakistan Federation Baseball, Mussadiq Hanif, head coach and Muhammad Jamil Kamran Chairman Baseball Umpiring Association also accompanied him. Syed Fakhar Shah added that during the championship selection committee will select the players for the National Training Camp for the participation in 13th West Asia Baseball Cup 2017. Syed Fakhar Ali Shah, Mussadiq Hanif, Muhammad Jamil Kamran and Col Sadaf (Army) are the members of Selection Committee.
Pakistan Army will meet Wapda on Tuesday November, 29.—APP
