Karachi—Tributes on Saturday were paid to famous writer, poet and intellectual Jamiluddin Aali in a memorial meeting held here at Arts Council of Pakistan. Anjuman-e-Taraki Urdu along with Arts Council of Pakista and family members of Aali jointly organized the meeting to pay homage to well know figure of literature/poetry in Pakistan..
On the occasion, a documentary was shown in which speakers highlighted Jamiluddin Aali’s contributions for the country including Urdu Literature.
The speakers hailed from social, literature and culture sectors and parliamentarians appreciated and highlighted Aali’s famous national songs, his life way of living, etc. Some of his famous national songs he wrote and sung included “Jeevay Jeevay Pakistan” and “Ae Watan Kay Sajeelay Jawanoun”.
Jamiluuddin Aali was born on January 20, 1925 in New Delhi and passed away on November 23 last year in Karachi.
