Thousands attend Rasm-e-Chaharam of martyr Junaid

Srinagar—In occupied Kashmir, thousands of people attended a gathering in Srinagar, today, to pay glowing tributes to 12-year-old Junaid Ahmad who was recently martyred by Indian troops in Srinagar.
Junaid Ahmed was injured after being hit by the pellets fired by Indian troops on protesters in Saidpora area of Srinagar on Friday evening. He succumbed to his injuries on early Saturday morning at a hospital in Srinagar.
Thousands of people including Hurriyet leaders and activists gathered in Saidpora area of Srinagar and participated in the gathering organized in connection with the Rasm-e-Chaharam of the martyred boy. They raised high-pitched anti-India and pro-freedom slogans.
Addressing the gathering, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference leader, Mohammad Yousuf Naqash, and other speakers said that the brutal killing of a minor had once again proved that the chief minister was mere a puppet in the hands of New Delhi whereas it were the occupational forces who were running the affairs in the Valley. “Whatever they do, whoever they shoot, kill, maim, or arrest, they are not accountable for their actions,” they said.
“Mehbooba must answer as to why forces shot little Junaid as he had neither gun nor was he any terrorist. If PDP is true to its demand of a time-bound probe into the killing, let it bring the culprits to book,” they added.
The speakers reaffirmed the Kashmiris’ resolve to continue the mission of their martyrs till it reached its logical end.—KMS
