Teachers training workshop conclude at Burn Hall College

Army Burn Hall College for Boys, has organized a two weeks teachers’ training workshop. The workshop commenced on 20 Feb 2017 and would culminate on 3 Mar 2017. The Principal Army Burn Hall College, Brigadier Wajid Qayyum Paracha, was the chief guest at closing ceremony here Friday Brigadier Qayyum speaking on the occasion said that the aim of the workshop was to afford the teachers an opportunity to refresh their knowledge on various aspects of learning and teaching, including education philosophy, psychology, teaching methodologies and share the best pedagogical practices.
Director COMSATS Gul Khan Jadoon addressing the last session said that as there are lot of changes occurred in the teaching methodology and we had to bring at par our system of studies with developing countries and need of the hour is to adopt the new techniques. During training, main topes of the discussion were the teaching is a life-long learning and teaching is a passion not profession, it is a chartered journey, not a wayward march and it should be ‘Students Centered’ for positive results.
Total 185 teachers, including teachers of Frontier Corps KP and 7 teachers of Quaid Public School, Kakul, participated in the workshop. Army Burn Hall College has engaged professional trainers as resource persons from different educational set-ups which includes Chief Instructor Army Burn Hall College, Senior Faculty Members, besides some renowned educationists including Dr Habib ur Rehman Asim from International Islamic University, Khan Gul Jadoon, Director COMSATS University Abbottabad, Mr. Muhammad Shafiq, Additional Director Assessment & Evaluation KPK, Mr. Zafar Arbab Abbasi, EDO, Mansehra, Major Dr Muhammad Shafiq from PMA, Mrs. Tahira Yasmeen & Mrs. Ayesha Khawar from Oxford University Press and Prof. Muhammad Farooq, Principal Right College Haripur.
It is worth mentioning that it was the first kind of workshop, spanning two weeks, organized in the last 15-20 years at Army Burn Hall College. The College management is committed to make all out efforts to bring about a marked improvement in learning / teaching environment of the College and this workshop was a step in that direction.
