Taimoor Shah elected unopposed as APTMA KP Chairman

Peshawar—Mohammad Taimoor Shah, Managing Director, M/s Sarhad Textile Mills Ltd has been elected unopposed Chairman of the Managing Committee of All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Region. According to a press release issued here on Monday, the elections were held on Monday in APTMA House, Tehkal Payan, Jamrud Road, Peshawar. Mohammad Taimoor Shah is son of Mohammad Hussain Shah, founder of Amin Group of Industries and a prominent businessman of KP.
As a Managing Director of Sarhad Textile Mills Ltd and Member board of directors of Royal Textile Mills Ltd, Amin Paper Board & Shah CNG, a chain of CNG Stations, Mohammad Taimoor Shah has previously attained the portfolio as Vice President of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the year 2014-15. He has also served as Chairman of APTMA KPK Region for the periods 2006-2007 & 2011-2012 moreover he was the central vice chairman of All Pakistan Textile Mills Association for two terms 2012-2013 & 2015-2016.
Association also elected / nominated unopposed all other office bearers and members of the Regional Managing Committee APTMA (KP Region) for the year 2016-17 which include Mr. Ahmad Kuli Khan Khattak, Chief Executive of M/s Rehman Cotton Mills Ltd as a representative of the KPK Region on the Central Executive Committee of APTMA and one woman member Mrs. Shahnaz Sajjad Ahmad, CEO of M/s Bannu Woollen Mills Ltd against Women Reserved Seat on the Central Executive Committee of APTMA. Whereas, Mr. Khalid Kuli Khan Khattak was elected unopposed as Vice Chairman of the Zone.
Speaking on the occasion, Mohammad Taimoor Shah thanked the textile industry of the province for reposing confidence in him. He pledged that under the present circumstances where Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is faced with menace of terrorism, he would continue to struggle for the industrial development and leave no stone unturned for promoting the business & industry in the province. He also vowed for taking efforts at government level for announcing special relief package for the industries of the province and steps for the resolution of the problems of the members of association on priority basis. Shah also requested the Federal Government to resolve the issues of GIDC on gas and electricity surcharges imposed on the industrial consumers to provide immediate relief to the industry of KP.—APP
