Czech teenager Marketa Vondrousova climbed 116 places to 117 in the WTA rankings released on Monday following her victory the day before at the Biel/Bienne Open.
The 17-year-old called it “the biggest win of my career” after defeating Anett Kontaveit of Estonia 6-4, 7-6 (8/6) in the Swiss tournament final.
At the other end of the age spectrum, 37-year-old Italian Francesca Schiavone moved up 64 places to 104th by winning the title in Bogota.
The 2010 French Open champion is playing her final season on the circuit.
