Rawalpindi—Executive District Officer (EDO) Health Dr Arshad Ali Sabir Thursday said a sufficient decrease in dengue cases has been reported due to proper indoor surveillance campaign.
He said the discovery of dengue larvae in houses has decreased from four percent to 2.5 percent due to the result targeted anti-dengue campaign of the Punjab government.
He said while supervising the anti-dengue campaign in various city areas. Dr Arshad said patients suffering from dengue have decreased and in the coming days the situation is expected to improve further. He said despite these improvements, the citizens should remain vigilant and personally inspect breeding-grounds of dengue in their houses.
He said dengue cannot be eliminated without the cooperation of the citizens and they should play an active part in the anti-dengue campaign launched by the government. EDO health said with the fall in temperatures, dengue mosquito find safer places inside houses, and citizens should remain vigilant about the presence of dengue mosquito behind curtains, under the furniture and in the kitchen. He said people should use mosquito repellent lotion when they are outdoor.
