South Asia Human Development Report launched

Lahore—Mahbub ul Haq Research Centre at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) has launched its Annual Human Development in South Asia Report for 2016.The report is titled “Empowering Women in South Asia”. Besides providing an overall South Asia profile, the Report presents a detailed analysis of women’s empowerment in five countries: Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
The event was addressed by Mrs. Khadija Haq, President of Human Development Center, Justice (R) Nasira Iqbal, and Syeda Henna Babar Ali, Advisor Consumer Products Division Packages.
Ltd. Other speakers included Syed Iqbal Riza, Special Advisor to the United Nations Secretary General, Ms. Khawar Mumtaz, current Chairperson of the National Commission on the Status of Women, Dr. Nida Yasmeen Kirmani, Associate Professor of LUMS School of Social Sciences, and Nazam Maqbool, Senior Research Fellow of the Mahbub ul Haq Research Centre.
