Shahbaz greets Nawaz on re-election as PML-N chief


Lahore—Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on his unopposed election as President Pakistan Muslim League-N. He also felicitated newly elected Chairman PML-N Raja Zafar ul Haq, Senior Vice Presidents, Secretary Information and Secretary Finance and expressed good wishes for them. Talking to party leaders at Convention Centre, Islamabad, Shahbaz Sharif said that PML-N firmly believes in democracy and set highest democratic traditions by conducting intra-party elections. He said that council members from all over the country have written a new political history by electing Muhammad Nawaz Sharif as President PML-N and other office-bearers in an enthusiastic and disciplined manner. The Chief Minister said that newly elected office-bearers of PML-N would serve the masses with greater vigour and zeal as well as play their due role in strengthening of the party at gross root level and progress and prosperity of the country.
He said that President Pakistan Muslim League-N and Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has played a commendable role for stability of democracy in the country and strengthening of democratic institutions. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, PML-N has emerged as the most popular party of the country.
He further said that efforts made by the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for the progress of the country and prosperity of masses are proving fruitful and Pakistan is moving towards progress and development.
Shahbaz Sharif said that present government led by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif is striving for solution of public problems due to which it is winning the hearts of the people and the results of bye-elections are a proof of the popularity of PML-N in the masses. Speaking to leaders and workers of PML-N from all the four provinces of Pakistan as well as Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and FATA, Shahbaz Sharif appreciated their role in mass contact campaign. He said that mutual contacts should continue for apprising the masses of the programmes launched by the government for public welfare as well as national development and progress. He said that PML-N has become the strongest political party of the country due to its politics of public service.
He said that the PML-N has honoured the mandate given to it by the masses in general elections in 2013 and its politics of public service would win in general elections of 2018 as well while those who are engaged in sit-ins would gain nothing. He said that these elements through their negative politics and other tactics are trying to promote anarchy and chaos in the country.
