In this connection plantation ceremony was held at session court Chitral where Mrs. Asifa Waqar Khattak the learned district and Session Judge Chitral, Mr. Abid Zaman senior Civil Judge, Sajidullah Advocate president district Bar association and Abdul Wali Abid member Pakistan Bar council also planted Deodar sapling and kicked the drive.
Divisional Forest Officer Chitral Muhammad Saleem Marwat, Sub Divisional Forest officer Asif Ali Shah and forest staff were also present on the occasion.
Talking to this scribe Sajidullah Advocate said that we highly appreciate this positive step by provincial government for plantation drive in Chitral. He said that there is no natural gas, nor electricity to be used for cooking and heating purposes. People of Chitral are compelled to use fire wood for cooking and heating purposes and if the trend continue after ten years there would be no tree in the forest. Hence due to the present plantation drive we can overcome shortage of forest and can save Chitral from deforestation.
Abdul Wali Khan said that it is not sufficient to plant a sapling and left it helpless but we should to care these sapling just like our own children to success them and to overcome shortage of forest. He said that it will be most beneficial for the whole county particularly but especially it is more best for Chitral where wood is burning for cooking and heating purposes.
