Senate eulogises LEAs courageous performance


Islamabad—Senate Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat on Tuesday highly appreciated the performance of Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) for courageously fighting the enemies of the country. The meeting was held here at Parliament House in chair of Senator Muhammad Talha Mehmood, chairman of the Committee. Senator Talha Mehmood said that Committee salute our LEAs personal for rendering sacrifices in fight against the anti state elements.
He said that due to successful operations by the LEAs, number of terrorists’ activities had been reduced in the country. The committee recommended that there should be a separate CPEC Security wing in Intelligence Bureau (IB) for ensuring the security of the project.
Chairman of the Committee said that India was involved in various terrorists activities in Pakistan, adding that Indian forces were killing the innocent Kashmiris in the Occupied Kashmir. He said that all these issues should be highlighted across the world.
Senator Talha Mehmood said that India in service Colonel Kalboshan Yadav was arrested from Balochistan, province which was involved in terrorism. The committee also lauded Rangers for conducting successful operation in Karachi. Earlier, Director General Intelligence Bureau and other senior officials briefed the committee regarding role of the Bureau.
NADRA also briefed the Committee regarding status of issuance and verification of CNICs to Aliens. He said that 457 NADRA officials terminated from jobs on basis of misconduct or charges of corruption during last two years.—APP
