RPO visits Muharram procession routes


Rawalpindi—Regional Police Officer (RPO) Wasal Fakhar Sultan Tuesday visited different parts of the city to check security measures at Imambargahs and procession routes.
Talking to journalists, he said it is the responsibility of the district administration to maintain law and order.
He urged the officers to play an active role in creating religious harmony and brotherhood to defeat nefarious designs of the anti-state elements.
He directed the officers of different departments to coordinate with each other and ensure repair of roads and installation of streetlights on the procession routes.
He directed the Health Department and Rescue 1122 to ensure provision of medical facilities to the mourners during the processions.—APP
