Road safety seminar held on 19th anniversary of Motorway Police

Islamabad—National Highways & Motorway Police, the torch bearer for road safety and traffic management on Motorways and Highways organized a road safety seminar on the occasion of 19th anniversary of its formation at NUST Institute of Civil Engineering (NICE) here .
The seminar was chaired by SP Drivers Licencing Authority (DLA) NH&MP Inam Ellahi. The Road Safety Awareness Unit of NH&MP in collaboration with NUST University organized the event which was attended by academia, officials from both NH&MP and NUST, and students of NUST University.
While addressing the participants of the seminar SP DLA NH&MP Islamabad said that the DLA was providing a hustle free environment for getting Drivers Licence.
“We have devised a state of the art drivers licence issuance management system. We know the value of life hence we prioritize safety while issuing licence to general public”, he added.
In-charge Road Safety Awareness Unit, Jamil Ahmad sensitized the participant on the most common perils to the life and property of the drivers and commuters during driving.
While speaking on the occasion Dr. Kamran Ahmad, a transport engineer from NUST, appreciated the efforts of NH&MP regarding road safety education and their contributions for research on transport and traffic management.
Dr. Liqat Ali, Associate Dean of NICE presented a shield to SP DLA NH&MP at the end of the seminar. The event was highly appreciated by participants due to its interactive nature.—APP
