Rescue 1122 provided first aid to 29,454 injured mourners


Lahore—Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue-1122) provided first aid to 29,454 injured mourners, and 399 of them were shifted to hospitals during Ashura Muharram.
Mourners who sustained injuries owing to flagellate were provided dressings and medicines while those having severe injuries and deep cuts were shifted to hospitals after provision of first aid.
As many as 7,000 rescuers and 637 emergency vehicles were deputed to provide medical and rescue service all-over the Punjab province.
Particularly, In Lahore 600 rescuers remained on emergency alert with 31 fully equipped emergency ambulances, 15 fire vehicles, five rescue vehicles, special vehicles six and 50 mobile posts moved along the processions and provided first aid to 1,662 mourners and 17 mourners were shifted to hospitals.
Specialized trained rescue force DRF (Disaster Response Force) with 55 rescuers remained high alert to meet any untoward incident/ disaster in Lahore. Director General Rescue 1122, Mian Mohsin Rasheed appraised the performance of all rescuers.—APP
