Release of Hurriyet leaders, activists demanded

Jammu—In occupied Kashmir, APHC leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Social Peace Forum (JKSPF), Advocate Devinder Singh has demanded release of all illegally detained Hurriyet leaders and activists languishing in different jails and police stations.
Devinder Singh addressing a public gathering in Poonch said that settlement of the lingering Kashmir dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations was imperative for durable peace in the region.
He also paid glowing tributes to those who scarified their lives for the Kashmir cause. He deplored that over 100 innocent people had been killed and thousands injured due to the use of brute force by Indian police and troops on peaceful protesters during the last four and a half months.
The Sikh Hurriyet leader appealed to the international human rights organizations to take cognizance of Indian state terrorism in the occupied territory and put pressure on New Delhi to settle the Kashmir dispute.
He said that during the last almost five months the Muslims of Poonch and Rajouri areas of Jammu were facing harassment at the hands of extremist Hindus for supporting their brethren in the Kashmir Valley.—KMS
