Punjab treats overseas Pakistanis as VIPs: Mashhood

Lahore—Keeping in view the importance of overseas Pakistanis in strengthening the national economy, the Punjab government has always treated them as VIPs. Minister Education/Chairperson District Overseas Committee Lahore Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan said this while addressing the gathering of overseas Pakistanis at a local hotel on Sunday. Rana Mashhood commended that the Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Punjab was playing an active role to solve problems faced by the overseas Pakistanis while district level committees were also functional to address their issues.
Additional Chief Secretary Shamail Ahmad Khawaja and Commissioner OPC Afzaal Bhatti also spoke on the occasion and said that Punjab offered most lucrative and low-risk opportunities to investors, especially in the field of energy, agriculture, livestock & dairy development, mines & minerals, tourism and infrastructure etc. They said the province had plenty of potential, resources and opportunities for overseas Pakistanis, and they should invest in different sectors of interest. They said the Punjab government had introduced pro-business environment and a positive policy- framework to generate foreign and domestic investment.
