A meeting to review the progress in welfare activities of Punjab Government employees through Punjab Government’s servants Benevolent Fund was held today at Civil Secretariat Lahore with Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Punjab Shamail Ahmad Khawaja in chair.
Matters regarding negotiations with various life insurance companies to reach a consensus on a package better than that of being provided to the government servants of Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtonkhawa nowadays.
The ACS directed Secretary Funds S&GAD Ahmed Mustajab Karamat to make efforts to ink MoU with such a reputable insurance company which would offer maximum benefit to the Punjab government servants in competition with the other insurance companies because Punjab is population wise the largest province of the country and the number of government servants in Punjab happens to be the largest as compared to the other provinces.
Meeting was informed that Governor Punjab has issued the notification in exercise of powers conferred under section 7 of the Punjab Government Servants benevolent Fund Ordinance, 1960 (XIV of 1960), regarding enhancement in funeral grant and monthly grant for the heirs of the deceased government servants who died during their service period.
This enhancement has been made through amending Punjab Government Servants Benevolent Fund Part-I (Disbursement) Rules, 1965. In compliance to this notification 100 per cent enhancement in funeral grant and 50 percent enhancement in monthly grant at every pay scale level.
