PTC clarifies reports

Peshawar—In response to media reports covering the ongoing protests held by the National Labor Federation, Pakistan Tobacco Company Limited would like to clarify that none of the protesters is, or ever has been, in the employment of PTC as wrongly stated in many sections of the media.
The Company hires third party contractors to bring additional resources onboard on a need basis as allowed by law. It may be appreciated that any person who has an issue with its employer should take it up with his/her employer, which in this case is not PTC. We also understand that some of the protesting individuals have already approached the courts against their employers therefore the matter is subjudice.
The Company hopes that the matter reaches a just solution amicably between the concerned parties and continues to remain committed to transparent corporate conduct.
Pakistan Tobacco Company Limited (PTC) is the country’s oldest multinational and has a legacy of upholding exemplary management practices since its inception. PTC values its employees as the lifeblood of its business and has nationally acclaimed HR framework and policies in place to protect our employees’ interests and uphold their welfare.
Going forward, we request the media to contact the PTC spokesperson to seek the Company’s official view so that unnecessary confusion and misrepresentation of facts can be avoided.—PR
