Islamabad—Provincial committees will be formed in all four provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan to oversee the implementation of NAP at the provincial level.
This was decided by a meeting presided over by National Security Adviser Lt-Gen (retd) Nasser Janjua here on Friday regarding the implementation of the National Action Plan. The new committees, headed by the chief ministers concerned are expected to report to the national committee after every 15 days.
During the meeting, representatives of the National Counter-Terrorism Authority (Nacta) provided a briefing on NAP’s progress and frameworks for the effective implementation of NAP were prepared. It was further decided that all provinces will implement all points of NAP without discrimination.
At the start of the meeting, the National Security Adviser informed the participants about the current affairs, particularly about the recent tension in Pakistan India relations. He appreciated the untiring efforts of law enforcement agencies during Muharram ul Haram and congratulated the institutions and Pakistani people for keeping law and order.
