PPP rally to be real show tomorrow

Karachi—The PPP rally scheduled for Sunday 16h October looks like being a great show as preparations got into full swing following permission being formally granted for it by commissioner of Karachi Friday afternoon.
The rally being organized to commemorate the dastardly attack on Benazir rally the same day on return from exile in 2007 will be addressed by the party chief Bilawal Bhutto, said an announcement here.
It is going to be a day-long affair as the rally, bound to be impressive, will cover almost the entire city, winding through main thoroughfares and bye-lanes—a distance of 22 kilometres, the announcement said.
It will start from Bilawal House, the residence of the PPP chairman in Clifton around ten in the morning, will take a route of nearby Boat Basin, Maulvi Tamizuddin Khan Road, Jinnah bridge, to Kakri ground in Lea market, which is the power base in Karachi of the PPP in Lyari area.
From there it will route itself through Ranchore Lines in old Karachi, to Saeed Manzil, onto the M A Jinnah Road, Mazare Quaid, Shahre Quaideen in PECHS to Share Faisal, the main road to airport, and terminate at Karsaz road, where the bomb blast had taken place but although 150 people died in the terrorist attack, Benazir luckily survived to live merely for two more months, before passing away in December 2007.
Bilawal Bhutto known for his fiery speeches, will address the rally for which big preparations have been on since last three days, and continuing at the break-neck speed round the clock.
