POF exports soar up to $93.68m: Chairman

Rawalpindi—Chairman Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) Lt. Gen Omer Mehmood Hayat, Wednesday, took great pride that the export earnings of POF saying that Wah had remarkably improved from 22.03 million dollars in fiscal year 2013-2014 to 93.68 million dollars in fiscal year 2015-2016. A total of Rs25099.401 million was injected in the budget to meet the target demands of the armed forces. In a meeting with Federal Minister for Defence production, Rana Tanveer Hussain regarding performance and achievements of Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) in the fiscal year 2015-16, he added that their technicians and engineers are working very hard and achieved the goals of fiscal year 2015-16 despite their limited budget. He praised the professional competence and commitment displayed by POF personnel.
The Minister received the in-depth briefing about the performance of Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF). Federal Minister took keen interest in the briefing and raised several questions to further improve and enhance the working of the POF, Wah.
Lt. Gen Omer Mehmood Hayat, Chairman Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) highlighted that with the help of highly qualified engineers and hardworking and skilled technicians POF, Wah has shown remarkable achievements in cost saving in the development of indigenous projects. The Minister expressed satisfaction over the performance of POF, Wah and assured his all-out efforts for requisite funds to facilitate replacement of old and obsolete machinery.
