Pakistan has arisen to number-one position in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Test rankings for the first time, eversince the official rankings was introduced in 2003. The highest pedestal Pakistan has ever reached was the second position following its series win over England in the United Arab Emirates last year. Pakistan Cricket Board should encourage its player to play county cricket and league cricket to adjust in the English condition because there are many important events lined up over the next few years in England.
Next year ICC Champion Trophy will be held in England from June 1 to 19, 2017. In May 2018 Pakistan tour to England for two test matches, Furthermore, in 2019 Pakistan tour to England for five ODI matches and one T20 and than from 30 May to 15 July ICC cricket world cup 2019 will be played in England. Therefore, the next three years are crucial for Pakistan considering the number of games in the environs most of our players are not acquainted with.
So it is very high time for PCB to take steps that its players get county cricket contract and rest of the player who could not get signed by any county team, get to play league so that they can acclimatize in England environment and get used to as to how to play in seaming conditions. The PCB should take steps to arrange A-team tours to prepare youngsters.
