Pakistan gets Chairmanship of TMB of SARSO-SAARC countries

The 5th Governing Board meeting of South Asian Regional Standardization Organization (SARSO) was held on 28th February – 1st March 2017 at SARSO Headquarters, Dhaka-Bangladesh. The SARSO is specialized body in the fields of Standardization and Conformity Assessment of South Asian Association and Regional Cooperation (SAARC).
The SAARC Member States (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Malive, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Pakistan) were participated in the 5th Governing Board meeting of SAARC-SARSO.
Muhammad Khalid Siddiq, Director General, Pakistan Standards & Quality Control Authority (PSQCA), a National Standards Body of Pakistan represents Pakistan in the SARSO Governing Board.
It is worth mentioning that by the great efforts of Muhammad Khalid Siddiq, Director General, Pakistan Standards & Quality Control Authority (PSQCA), Pakistan succeeded Chairmanship of Technical Management Board (TMB) of SARSO-SAARC for the next three years.
Furthermore, it is also enormous efforts of Khalid Siddiq, DG-PSQCA for getting Secretariat of two Technical Committees of SARSO. SARSO is defining the role of Standardization and Conformity Assessment in the Region in trade liberalization in view of reduction of poverty likewise, economic development in the SAARC Region.
