Pakistan capable to guard national interests: GOC


Bahawalpur—Pakistan is a peaceful country and has all the capabilities to guard its national interests. GOC Bahawalpur Maj Gen Amjad Ali Khan Khattak while speaking on the inaugural ceremony of Sadiq MUN-2016 at Sadiq Public School Bahawalpur as chief guest said that Pakistan has best and well equipped armed forces who have defeated the menace of terrorism.
He said that Pakistan is heading towards progress and prosperity and no earthly power can stop us. He said that peace has been restored in Karachi and Gwadar Port has started operating. Talking about Indo-Pak relations, he said that Pakistan wants good relations with all the neighbors including India but no compromise can be made on national sovereignty.
While advising the students, he said that building good character, facing the hardships with courage and competence to compete with the world are keys to success. Former High Commissioner to South Africa Shaheen Amin Gillani and President FATA Research Center Saifullah Mehsud, both the Old Sadiqians also spoke on the occasion and shared their experience at Sadiq Public School and from their professional lives with the students.
Earlier, Principal Sadiq Public School Prof Nauman Ahmad Qureshi presented the welcome address. He told that 300 delegates from all over the country are participating in this year’s edition of Model United Nations. Principal presented school crest to the distinguished guests. Sadiq MUN-2016 will continue till November 27.—APP
