As a result of the efforts made by the Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Punjab, as many as 5640 Kanal of land and other built up properties, worth billions of rupees have been retrieved from the illegal occupants.
This was disclosed by Vice Chairperson OPC Shaheen Khalid Butt and Commissioner Afzaal Bhatti while addressing the participants of a reception given by the Pakistani Community in Brussels, Belgium.
A large number of Overseas Pakistanis living in Brussels and other cities were present on this occasion. Shaheen Khalid Butt and Afzaal Bhatti informed the participants of the event that so far 140 houses and plots in a housing scheme have been handed over to the long awaited Overseas Pakistanis, who had booked these houses and plots some 10 years ago.
VC and Commissioner OPC said that by now 50% of the received complaints have been settled amicably by the OPC and almost all public sector departments of Punjab are fully sensitised of the issues of Overseas Pakistanis.
Leader of Pakistani Community of Brussels Nasir Chohan and others while lauding the efforts of OPC in resolving the problems of Overseas Pakistanis said that this institution has exhibited exceptional performance to settle the issues faced by expatriates and CM Punjab should be commended for establishing such an effective platform.
On this occasion VC and Commissioner informed the participants about the working and performance of OPC.
