Islamabad—National Productivity Organization, Ministry of Industries & Production in collaboration with Qarshi University and Asian Productivity Organization organized a 5 Days International Training on “Lean Manufacturing-Specialist Development Program”.
APO International Lean Expert Shaharum Ashaari from Malaysia is conducting the program helping participants to learn lean techniques to enhance quality and productivity.
Diversified group of twenty six participants from various organizations including shoes manufacturing, paper & board, plastics, steel, chemical and service industry are attending the program.
The objective of this program is to equip the participants with the hands on experience and benefits of lean manufacturing implementation.
In the opening ceremony, Ms. Rabia Jamil, Regional Head NPO Lahore, welcomed the participants on behalf of CEO NPO.
She briefed the delegates regarding NPO vision, mission, strategic direction and mandate to promote productivity and quality consciousness among private, public and service sector organizations by providing training and consultancy services.
She appreciated the Qarshi Management for joining hands with NPO to organize this program.
Dr. Zahir Paracha, Vice chancellor Qarshi University, praised the initiative of NPO and APO for organizing the program on Lean Manufacturing to provide participants with the opportunity to learn from an International Expert who will share best practices in Malaysia and help participants to adopt/apply these methodologies in their own organizations.
He emphasized that NPO must hold more such trainings in future to support the industry in enhancing productivity and competitiveness.
