Lahore—Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera has said that no one should be arrested without evidence, especially in heinous crime cases because this is against the principles of justice to arrest only on basis of doubt.

IGP also directed to take special care of welfare of the force as it is not possible to get results from the force without giving priority to their welfare.
He further said, 74 officers are promoted in accordance with the merit, on the basis of their performance and seniority. Now this is responsibility of the officers to work with sincerity and according to the merit on their duty stations. Particularly, officers should deal the cases of victimized and helpless persons on priority basis.
