No let up in theft, dacoity cases

Hafizabad—There is no let up in the incident of theft, burglary, dacoity and bike lifting/snatching cases in the area during the past three days. A young trader was killed when he put up resistance and was deprived of cash and gold ornaments worth Rs. 1.5 million in village Qila Ram Kour.
The deceased Ashiq Hussain was sleeping in the upper storey of his shop-cum-house when armed bandits stormed and snatched away 15 tolas gold ornaments and Rs. eight lakhs. When he put up resistance the desperate intruders pushed him from the roof of the house as a result of which he was fatally injured and was rushed to the hospital where he died.
According to another report, unidentified burglars broken into the warehouse of rice trader Muhammad Sarwar son of QadirBukhsh on Marth Road Jalalpur Bhattian and loaded 102 bags of rice worth lakhs of rupees in a vehicle and whisked away.
Two bike riders, Muhammad Usman son of Muhammad Ramzan Kashmiri of KalekeMandi was deprived of his bike No. HZK-5155 from near DHQ Hospital today. Another bike rider Sami Ullahson of Ahmad Ali Chohanof ChakKharal was also deprived of his bike from AnarkaliBazar Hafizabad.
Unidentified burglars broken into the shops of IrshadAhmdChatha, Muhammad Akram and Muhammad Ilyas last night in Sooianwala village and decamped with Rs. four lakh and other merchandise worth million of rupees.
The police have registered separate cases but failed to arrest any of the accused. The citizens have called upon the DPO and RPO to take stringent measures to check the day-to-day crime incidents to provide sense of security to the common man.
