Islamabad—Responding to the message of belligerence and war mongering being transmitted from across the border in the wake of Uri attack, Pakistan has emphatically stated that the armed forces and the whole nation are ready to defend every inch of the motherland.
Exercises of Pakistan Air Force are routine mat-ter. Pakistan is a peaceful country and peaceful neighbourhood is the vision of the Prime Minister, Foreign office spokesperson Nafees Zakariya said while responding to questions of media persons at his weekly news briefing here on Thursday.
In the wake of belligerent posture adopted by the Indian side after the attack on Uri, Army Chief General Raheel Sharif while chairing the meeting of Corps Commanders on Monday had made it clear that Pakistan is cognizant of the current regional situation and its impact on security of the country and are fully prepared to respond to entire spectrum of direct and indirect threats.
Nafees Zakariya said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in his address to the UN General Assembly urged the world body for implementing its resolu-tions on Kashmir.
Referring to the continued gruesome brutalities of Indian occupation forces, the spokesman called upon the UN Secretary-General, UN Human Rights Commissioner and international community to take measures to stop bloodshed in Occupied Kashmir. He said about 110 Kashmiris have been martyred, more than ten thousand injured and about 800 have lost their eye sight due to pellet gun use by occupa-tion forces.
To a question, he said there is concrete evidence of Indian sponsored terrorism and terrorist financing in Pakistan especially in Balochistan and Karachi.
