Karachi—Sindh Minister for Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control, Mukesh Kumar Chawla has said that all minorities including Hindus have complete freedom to follow their religions and rituals in Sindh and the news regarding the exodus of Hindus from Sindh is baseless.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday, he said that the constitution of Pakistan and PPP manifesto had guaranteed to protect the rights of the minorities and needless to say that the minorities had complete freedom in following their customs and traditions as well.
He added,’worship places of the minorities have full security and through many development schemes, renovation work is in progress on minorities’ worship places across the province’. He strongly condemned the unprovoked firing and shelling on Line of Control by Indian forces and said we all are united to defend Pakistan.
Regarding closure of wine shops in Sindh, he told that the matter was in Supreme Court of Pakistan and hoped that it would consider the case sympathetically. He said, while obeying the orders of Sindh High Court, the E&T Department Sindh had accelerated its raids against the sale of liquor.
