Material to be included in syllabus for elimination of terrorism: Mashhood

Lahore—Provincial Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmad has said that material will be included in the syllabus to create awareness about terrorism. He said that amendments in the syllabus is utmost necessary for the elimination of extremism.
He said that purpose for introducing syllabus regarding anti-terrorism and promotion of peace is to promote true teachings of Islam among children. He said that peace and text about anti-terrorism is the need of the hour for setting a peaceful society.
Provincial Education Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmad presided over a meeting of Punjab Textbook Board to review the message of restraint, tolerance and brotherhood in the books being published under National Action Plan.
The meeting reviewed various suggestions for setting up of peace and elimination of terrorism in the syllabus. The meeting reviewed to create awareness among children regarding rights of minorities and promotion of inter faith harmony among different religions.
The meeting stressed to include Ahadees and sayings in the syllabus. The meeting also reviewed to create awareness among children for the elimination of extremism and terrorism and promotion of restraint, tolerance. Chairman PCTB Muhammad Akrm, MD PCTB Ahmed Ali Kamboh, Allama Raghib Naeemi besides other Ulema and officers of the concerned departments attended the meeting.
