Mammoth rally, a referendum against India: TeH


Srinagar—Hundreds of people Monday participated in the unity cum pro freedom rally organized by Tehrik-e-Hurryiat (TeH), Bandipora in Khenusa area of the north district. Enthusiastic participants were raising full-throated anti-India and pro-freedom slogans. It was a referendum against Indian occupation of Kashmir.
People from Kanibathi, Watlab, Ashtangoo, Zoorimanz and adjoining villages attended the rally organized in Jamia Masjid Khenusa.
Thesil PresidentTeH Danish Malik and other religious scholars addressed the rally that continued till afternoon. Later participants marched from Masjid to main Khenusa Chowk.
Speakers urged people to remain steadfast and united for the cause of freedom.
Meanwhile residents in Nowpora alleged CRPF of highhandedness and damage to property. Residents in Nowpora said that a convoy of CRPF resorted to unprovoked pellet firing demanding parked vehicles and windows.—RK
