Lahore—Lahore High Court on Thursday ordered to sack Vice Chancellors of four universities due to appointment issue.
The LHC judge Shahid Kareem heard the case filed by plaintiff Aurangzeb Alamgir who challenged appointment of Vice Chancellors.
Sources told that the court has directed to suspend Vice Chancellors of University of Punjab, Lahore College for Women University, Sargodha University and Nawaz Sharif Engineering University.
It was also directed that universities should appoint senior most professors as acting VCs while the Higher Education Commission should give advertisement in newspapers.
The court also declared VC appointment process as illegal saying that provinces do not possess any authority of hiring Vice Chancellors.
