LDA to improve ‘One Window Cell’


Lahore—Director General Lahore Development Authority Nabeel Javed has ordered for simplifying various Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and rationalising timelines for disposing of citizens’ applications in order to upgrade the level of public service at One Window Cell.
He issued these directions to the relevant officials during a surprise visit of the Cell on Monday. He said that public facilitation must be the top priority and the officials should adopt a people-friendly approach while deciding about the applications. He urged the officials to refrain from raising unnecessary objections on the applications. The LDA DG issued instruction for prominently displaying names of different counters set up at the One Window Cell and functions performed by every counter. He ordered for reintroducing token number system for convenience of the applicants.
He directed the One Window Cell director to remain in touch with the sub-registrars, treasury officials and other relevant departments for swift verification of documents of applications for their quick disposal. The DG listened to complaints of a number of applicants on the occasion and issued on-the-spot orders for immediate redress of their complaints.
He told the people that a complaint box had been placed at the One Window Cell of the LDA for receiving grievances of the applicants. Citizens can lodge their complaints about the working of any directorate of LDA through this box. The complaints are regularly monitored and the relevant staff is directed accordingly, he added. —APP
