KPEZMC team visits southern districts envision master plan


Peshawar—Team of engineers and marketers from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development & Management Company (KPEZDMC) visited major cities including Kohat, Karak, Bannu and D.I Khan to envision a master plan for bringing prosperity in southern districts of the province.
The master plan includes 500 acre, 50,000 barrels per day capacity oil refinery in Karak. This will attract USD 200 mn of investment and generate 10,000 direct and indirect jobs.
To complement the oil refinery KPEZDMC is in a process of acquiring 1000 acres of land for the support industries in Kohat. This economic zone will have trucking station for 500 petroleum bowser trucks with all relevant amenities. The economic zone will attract investment of Rs. 100 billion.
The company plans to take advantage of vast natural resources of D.I Khan including livestock, fisheries and agriculture making it food basket of KP and rest of Pakistan. KPEZDMC is in process of developing Economic Zone on 189 acres of land in D.I Khan.
D.I Khan Industrial Estate was not able to take off due to lack of electricity, no amenities and inadequate infrastructure. The establishment of the economic zone in the area will uplift the region’s per capita income provide 10,000 job opportunities to the locals by attracting Rs.2 billion investment in the next few years eventually making D.I Khan a hub of industries in the south.
Since KPEZDMC takeover of D.I Khan Industrial Estate, it has managed to attract many industries. To start with, it is facilitating a 6 acres, Rs.110 million project of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) storage and filling plant.
The plant will start production within 3 months and will provide employment opportunities to 100 direct and 300 indirect locals.
