Kashmiri student thrashed in Punjab Indian

Srinagar—A student from South Kashmir missed his examination paper after he was beaten up by goons blue and black in North Indian Punjab State. Haris Shakeel Khan from Kadipora area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district studies at Doaba Group of Colleges (DGC) at Kharar-Kurali area of Mohali Punjab.
The close friends of Haris told news agency CNS that he was on way to College to appear in Environmental Engineering paper of B.Tech 5th semester when a group of goons, some of them study in the same college assaulted him without any reason. “He was beaten to pulp.
His only fault is that he comes from Kashmir. He received wounds on face and other parts of body and has been admitted in the government hospital at Chandigarh,” they said.
Pertinently, the students from Kashmir studying in different Indian states face frequent attacks from Hindu zealots while Indian Home Minister had claimed of stabling a grievance cell for the redressal of such complaints.
These students made a vehement appeal to the State Government and Jammu Kashmir Police Chief to look into the matter and save them from the wrath of fanatics.—KW
